The number of Internet users in the Arab world is expected to rise to about 226 million by 2018. That’s according to the latest Arab Knowledge Economy report unveiled in Dubai, which says more than half of the region will have access to the Internet in the next two years. These figures exceed the estimated world average by about 7%. Among the GCC countries, Bahrain and Kuwait are expected to register the highest number of new internet users.
