Dubai's airports have taken another step towards becoming environmentally sustainable. Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC) have become the first in the Gulf region to achieve Level 2 certification under the Airports Council International’s (ACI) Carbon Accreditation Programme. The four-stage process accredits airports at different levels- including carbon mapping, reduction, optimisation and neutrality. Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports has described the achievement as an important step in the company’s ultimate goal of attaining carbon-neutral growth.
