Dubai International Airport welcomed 41.3 million passengers in the first half of 2019.
According to the national news agency WAM, the closure of the Southern runway between April 16th and May 30th for refurbishment, reduced the airport’s capacity, contributing to a 5.6% decline in traffic.
The runway closure also impacted cargo traffic. A total of 1.03 million tonnes of airfreight was handled at DXB during the first half this year, down 18.3 per cent.
