Domestic workers over 60 years of age will be allowed to renew their employment contracts in the UAE.
That's the word from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), which detailed the three conditions that need to be met for the process to start.
Khalil Khouri, the Ministry's Under-Secretary for Domestic Workers' Affairs, explained that the worker must be physically fit, the employer must bear all expenses for their medical care and approval from all relevant bodies must be acquired.
He added that the decision is in response to the requests of several families who believed that age didn't affect the performance of their domestic workers.
