A new committee has been established in Dubai for overseeing the emirate's urban planning sector.
The Supreme Committee for Urban Planning is also tasked with supervising the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council announced the formation of the new committee.
It will be chaired by Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The Committee will ensure the plans of related government entities in the emirate are aligned with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and ensure the integration of major infrastructure and urban projects as part of efforts to make Dubai the best city in the world to live in.
