His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has reaffirmed that the sacrifices of the nation's martyrs will always remain a source of pride and inspiration for the nation.
In a statement marking Commemoration Day, observed annually on November 30, Sheikh Mohammed praised the bravery of the fallen heroes, whose actions embody the highest values of patriotism, honour, loyalty and service.
Sheikh Mohammed also honoured the families of martyrs for their steadfast commitment to raising future generations who cherish Emirati traditions and love for the nation.
He extended his gratitude to not only the military personnel but also members of the diplomatic, security, civil defence, and healthcare sectors, including those who lost their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"For the ninth year in a row, we come together to honour our heroes," Sheikh Mohammed said. "Their legacy remains steadfast, a beacon of the values that define us as a nation, celebrated and dignified in the hearts of our people."
He also praised the role of the armed forces and the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who has shown exceptional dedication to the welfare of martyr families, focusing on their education and well-being.
On this solemn day, Sheikh Mohammed stressed that the true tribute to martyrs is reflected in how their spirit is embodied in the daily lives of the Emirati people, particularly through national service programmes and the bond between civil and military sectors.
