A sanitisation programme will take place from May 9 in Abu Dhabi's Musaffah area.
According to the Department of Health (DoH), COVID-19 tests will be provided free-of-charge to everyone living in the area.
Officials have clarified that legal action will not be taken against those violating visa regulations as the country’s top priority at the moment is to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The DoH has revealed that free transportation to and from the testing facilities will also be provided to the residents of Musaffah.
Restrictions will be imposed and workers will not be allowed to enter or exit the area until the sanitisation programme is over, however, daily commercial activities in the area will operate as normal throughout the campaign.
