His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, has underlined the importance of reaching a ceasefire in Gaza at the Gulf-US Summit in Riyadh.
Leading the UAE delegation at the summit, on behalf of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Khaled reiterated the call to ensure delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians, and achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, based on the two-state solution.
He also reaffirmed the UAE’s steadfast commitment to dialogue and diplomacy, a principle embodied by the signing of the Abraham Accords in 2020.
Attended by leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and US President Donald Trump, the meeting discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation and shared commitment to promoting peace and prosperity.
"The ties between the GCC and the US transcend traditional diplomatic frameworks, surpassing conventional horizons. A shared commitment to cooperation has forged dynamic partnerships and yielded significant achievements in emerging fields, including artificial intelligence, advanced technology, space exploration and the development of peaceful nuclear energy programs, among others," he said.
Sheikh Khaled reiterated the UAE’s commitment to constructive cooperation with the Trump administration and support for efforts to identify long-term solutions to regional challenges that foster development.
Expressing optimism around the recent rounds of diplomatic dialogue between the US and Iran, Sheikh Khaled reaffirmed the UAE’s support for efforts to de-escalate tensions and promote regional stability and prosperity.
Trump started his three-country Gulf visit on Tuesday, and is set to arrive in the UAE on Thursday after heading to Qatar on Wednesday.
The tour aims to further strengthen Gulf cooperation and deepen the strategic partnership with the US, advancing shared interests in regional security, stability and sustainable development.
