The UAE's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other international organisations in Geneva Jamal Al Musharakh held a number of high-level meetings with senior officials to brief them on the recent escalation in the Arabian Gulf region.
During his bilateral meetings, Al Musharakh provided a comprehensive briefing on the situation in the region and affirmed the UAE’s unwavering commitment to ensuring regional stability, humanitarian cooperation, and the continuation of economic and humanitarian operations without interruption.
Al Musharakh stressed that the UAE has consistently called for de-escalation and the resolution of conflicts through diplomatic means, emphasizing the growing threat posed by Iran’s missile capabilities and drones.
He also stressed that attacks against the UAE have broad international repercussions given the country’s role as a global hub for trade, logistics, and humanitarian operations.
Al Musharakh sent a message of reassurance to partners from the UN and international organisations that the UAE is continuing its work in full and is committed to supporting humanitarian and development efforts.
He noted that the UAE continues to operate as a major hub for humanitarian logistics, with the Emirate of Dubai hosting one of the world’s largest centers for coordinating and delivering humanitarian aid supplies.
Al Musharakh reiterated that the UAE continues to facilitate all necessary permits for emergency humanitarian flights, and highlighted the precautionary measures taken by the country to ensure the continuation of economic activity, food security, and global trade flows despite the current regional challenges.
Senior officials at the UN and international organisations expressed their appreciation for the pivotal role of the UAE as a humanitarian partner and logistics hub, noting that the comprehensive briefings provided a clear understanding of developments on the ground and strengthened confidence in the continuation of humanitarian operations and economic activities.
