UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has met with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev to review bilateral ties and explore ways to expand cooperation.
The talks were held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi during Aliyev’s working visit and took place within the framework of the Comprehensive Economic and Strategic Partnership between the two nations.
Discussions focused on opportunities for cooperation in key areas, including the economy, investment, development and renewable energy, in support of both countries’ long-term development goals.
The two leaders also discussed the 2026 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, which recently honoured the historic peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
His Highness congratulated Aliyev, describing the award as recognition of the wisdom shown in reaching an agreement that promotes peace, cooperation and stability in the Caucasus region.
Aliyev, in turn, praised the efforts of the UAE President and commended the country's diplomatic role in advancing peace, stability and security at both regional and global levels.
