The UAE has strongly condemned a recent statement issued by Iran’s Foreign Ministry, and rejected allegations and threats targeting the country’s sovereignty, national security and independent decision-making.
In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the nation’s international relations and defence partnerships are a sovereign matter, and cannot be used as a pretext for threats, interference or incitement by any party.
The Ministry warned that any rhetoric involving direct or indirect threats to the UAE’s security, critical infrastructure or the safety of its citizens, residents and visitors is unacceptable, and violates the principles of international law, good neighbourliness, and the United Nations Charter.
It added that the UAE reserves its full sovereign, legal, diplomatic and military rights to address any threat, allegation or hostile act.
The Ministry also reaffirmed that attempts to exert pressure or promote unfounded claims will not affect the UAE’s firm positions, nor deter it from protecting its national interests and sovereignty.
