The Smart Mobile Passenger Inspection Unit will soon be used by UAE customs officials at land, air and sea entry and exit points.
According to national news agency WAM, the vehicle, which will be launched next month, will be equipped with x-ray scanners to detect narcotics, explosives, weapons, precious metals and forged documents.
The six gadgets, designed by Emirati citizens working for The Federal Customs Authority (FCA), will be mounted on the same vehicle.
Authorities added that the unit can be remotely controlled by customs officers and inspectors.
