The UAE's Minister of Foreign Affairs His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed the latest developments in Gaza with British Foreign Secretary David Cameron and Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz.
Sheikh Abdullah also spoke to Sigrid Kaag, the United Nations' Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza.
During these phone calls, he emphasised the significance of enhancing regional and international efforts to meet the urgent humanitarian needs of the people of Gaza.
Sheikh Abdullah stressed that the UAE is keen to cooperate with the international community to end extremism and violence in the region, and to support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
The UAE minister added that the immediate priority is to end the violence, protect the lives of all civilians and ensure the opening of humanitarian corridors.
Sheikh Abdullah also extended the UAE's support for Sigrid Kaag's efforts to strengthen the response to the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
