UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has held separate phone discussions with regional leaders after Iran launched a wave of missile strikes in the region.
His Highness spoke with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The leaders underscored the need for an immediate cessation of all attacks and a return to dialogue and diplomatic solutions in order to preserve the security of the region and prevent further escalation.
They added that the strikes are a violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
