Abu Dhabi Police have deployed smart patrols in the emirate to catch traffic violators.
The smart patrol uses advanced technical systems to detect drivers who don't wear seatbelts, use their mobile phones, ignore speed limits, as well as those with expired driving licenses or car registrations.
They will then notify the violating drivers through SMS.
It's part of the emirate's strategic traffic safety plan to make roads safer.
