Pascal Ackermann has clinched the opening stage of the 2020 UAE Tour cycling.
The 26-year-old German rider (Bora-Hansgrohe) sprinted to the finish line ahead of Australia’s Caleb Ewan (Lotto Soudal).
The 148 km-long stage started from The Pointe at Palm Jumeirah and ended at Dubai Silicon Oasis.
Ackermann shared his thoughts with ARN News soon after the race.
He was also full of praise for the cycling conditions in the UAE.
